Student Councils

Student Council members have been elected. We will begin school presentations with the November meeting. Goldfield Student Council will make a short presentation. 

  • Goldfield Student Council made a presentation at the County Commissioners meeting where they informed the commissioners about the upcoming Harvest Festival.

  • The Dyer Student Council has set up a Snack Bar, where they are selling stationary and school approved snacks on Thursday afternoons. Proceeds are being used to fund other Student Council activities.


Nevada Schools Report Card

  • Goldfield Elementary and Middle Schools were rated as 1 star schools. 

  • Dyer Elementary and Middle Schools were rated as 2 star schools. 

  • The Virtual High School received 100 points on the rating scale (one of the highest ratings in the state), but is not given a star rating due to size.


Maintenance & Transportation

We had a surprise leak in the water main that runs under the K-2 classroom in Dyer. Jennifer, along with Scott and Kyle, were able to get it repaired and the water stopped. At this time, we are investigating possible damage that may have occurred.


County Property Taxes

On Monday, September 29th, Anabel, Wendy, Ryan Russell and I appeared before The State Board of Equalization in Reno. Ryan and Anabel presented our case, and the State Board agreed that we should not have to pay property taxes on the lots we own in Goldfield. Wendy and Anabel did a tremendous amount of work to get this taken care of. 


Parent Guidance

Through a DCFS grant, we have been able to partner with ParentGuidance.org to provide free online mental health support for every district family. Any parent can access this resource from the link on our school specific websites.
